When it's over, I don't
  want to wonder
if I have made my life
  something particular,
  and real.
I don't want to find
  myself sighing and
  frightened, or full of
I don't want to end up
  simply having visited
  this world."

About Marla Lev

I have been in practice providing psychotherapy since 1989. My original training was in body-oriented psychotherapy, which continues to inform the way I think and listen during sessions. In the past 15 years, I have focused my studies and practice in a more psychoanalytic orientation. I am committed to doing this work myself, which is reflected in the work I do with others. My passion for and belief in psychotherapy motivates me to explore deeply my own psychic terrain.

I received my Master's Degree from John F. Kennedy University, California, in 1989 and was licensed as a Marriage and FamilyTherapist in 1993. Since graduating, I havecontinued my studies through various courses and long-term trainings through The Psychotherapy Institute, the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and case conferences lead by senior psychoanalysts. I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1984.

I currently teach and supervise at The Psychotherapy Institute, and supervise trainees at The Wright Institute Clinic.
